--the following story may be apocryphal--
zah owned a bait & tackle shop &
lived in my neighborhood -
(aka 'under the bridge')
zah had lost his legs (either in an accident or military service)
& he had various methods for getting around including a large
modified skateboard-like item.
he was reputed to be quite well off &
his wife was a fantastic cook.
one sweltering summer day myself & a compatriot had a notion to see
what was cooking in mrs. zah's kitchen.
so... we snuck into their apartment up a long flight of steps. we
found ourselves confronted w/ the carcass of a chicken
which mrs. z had been plucking.
luckily the kitchen was unattended.
tommy (my compatriot) stealthily climbed up on the counter to
investigate the cupboards where he suspected mrs. z had stored
cookies or perhaps a pie (my fav).
unbeknownst to us, zah didn't believe in in the concept of banks
& secreted money in his home including mason jars in the very
cupboards we were now perusing...
tommy signalled me w/ success - he had found some delicious cookies
and such.
at that moment mrs. z entered the kitchen & screamed for zah
"they are robbing us..."
we took off for the stairs - zah followed on his skateboard,
brandishing a gun
rolling down the long flight after us......
voila - "rollin' with zah"
